Teachers are frustrated with a classroom change

Here is the email I am receiving from multiple teachers.. We need a way to toggle this setting on or off for our district ..I received the following email from a teacher.. Can I turn this option off? I wanted to let you know that there was an update on light speed that has
not been a great addition.
We now have to check-in each student independently. It's very
frustrating there seems to be no quick way to do it.

Ability to "Check in" whole class at once.

This causes a lot of problems, as it disables websites that are blocked until they check in.

When it shows a student is online but in a different class, but the periods have changed and now they are in my class. I would like just to click one button to be able to have access to lock screens, and send messages

At the Elementary level, we have enrichment teachers who receive whole classes from the homeroom teacher in the middle of the day. The homeroom teacher's class schedule is set from 7:30 to 2:45. Therefore the Enrichment teacher has to check-in each student individually and then the homeroom has to check them back in individually when they return to their homeroom class.

Early access Check in feature is causing issues in our classes.

I sent a ticket to support and they directed me here. The check in feature in it's current form is causing some of our teachers issues. We have a number of groups for which the schedule is set from 8am-3pm and are used for either monitoring different groups of students or a teacher's homeroom that they have in their classroom the majority of the time. With the new check in mechanism this is causing a lot of issues for our special subject teachers such as computer, art, music, etc. that have various groups only a couple of days a week. Because other schedules overlap theirs they have to check in all of their students. This has two problems. 1. There is no "check in all" so they have to go through and check in over 20 students individually. 2. If they don't check them in before the student starts browsing to a particular site the list of students will say "not browsing" until they switch to a new site which doesn't help the teacher make sure they are on the right site and on task.

It's time consume to check in every student, every day. Capability is needed to check in multiple students at one time or turn off the check in status.

Mass check in for all students in a class at one time.

Please allow teachers to "check in" all students currently scheduled for their class at one time, rather than clicking on students individually. That way time is not spent clicking each student's name to check them in for permissions to take effect.
