We should be able to write short messages to students rather than using the premade ones.

Hello Ariel. Lightspeed Classroom Management does allow for custom messages from teachers if the setting is enabled by an IT Administrator in Classroom Rules.
Please discuss your request with your IT team and ask them to review the "Send custom messages" setting which allows teachers to send one-way messages to students. (Maximum 150 character limit.)
