We're looking to improve our district-level reporting to get clearer, more actionable insights from Lightspeed data, particularly for sharing with administrators and non-technical stakeholders. Our current methods involve significant manual data export and processing (10-20 hours per reporting cycle) to achieve the desired level of analysis and presentation.
Key enhancements we'd find incredibly valuable include:
Advanced Comparative Reporting:
Easily compare specific schools against district-wide peer groups (e.g., 'Bear Creek Elementary' vs. 'All District Elementary Schools').
Break down comparisons by user roles (students, teachers, admin staff).
Enable comparisons across different grade levels (e.g., 6th vs. 7th grade activity), leveraging existing grade-level data.
More Insightful & User-Friendly Data Presentation:
Translate technical domain data into recognizable application names or meaningful, customizable categories (e.g., "Educational Games," "Social Media") suitable for executive reports.
Provide metrics based on unique user counts (e.g., "number of students accessing X resource") in addition to total event counts, to avoid data skew from highly active individuals and better reflect widespread behavior.
AI-Powered Analysis & Summaries:
Introduce automated report summaries, similar to the Classroom AI Summary feature, to highlight key trends and insights.
Implement intelligent filtering to distinguish between general web searches (e.g., Google search queries) and actual application usage within the same domain (e.g., Google Workspace apps).
These features would drastically reduce manual effort, provide more accurate and easily understandable data for data-driven decision-making, and improve our ability to communicate digital trends effectively across the district.
